Meals that Allow You to Plan Ahead for Your Trip!

Every camper knows how hard it can be planning quick fulfilling meals to make in a camper/RV. With these food tip (every camper should know about) you can cut down on space in your fridge and on your counters! These meals will also give you more time to spend with your friends and family!

  Salad in a Jar
This might seem odd to some people, but this is a great way to prepare a quick meal before you hit the road! Your salads can be made up to 5 days before you're ready to eat them!
Here are some suggestions to get your salad started:
  • Mason Jar with Lid - Glass/Plastic - (number depending on how many salads you would like to serve)
  • Lettuce/Spinach
  • Carrots - Cut to your preference
  • Tomatoes - Preferably Cherry Tomatoes
  • Cheese - Preferably shredded / Flavor of your choice
  • Mushrooms - Preferably sliced
  • Croutons - Size of your choice
  • Raisins - Dried Cranberries can also be used
  • Dressing - Flavor of your choice / *Can be put at bottom of Mason Jar, but do not let it touch the lettuce! You may also put it in another container other than the Mason Jar
Do not forget to keep your salads in the refrigerator! Seal the lid tight and save it for a quick meal! Make your meal 5 days ahead of  time and give yourself time to pack! Salad in a Jar is the perfect meal for your outdoor adventure!

Frozen Marinated Meat
Everyone loves to eat a marinated meal over the grill! This is an easy way to have a prepared meal ready to throw on the grill! Here's what you'll need:
  • Ziploc Bags - Size of your preference
  • Meat - Kind of your preference
  • Marinade - Flavor of your preference
  • Freezer - In Home/Camper
Marinade the raw meat over night in a refrigerator. The next day you will need to put  the marinated meat into the Ziploc bag and seal it tightly. Once you have done that, put it in the freezer until you're ready to throw it on the grill at your campsite!

Frozen Pancake Batter
Not sure what to make for breakfast every morning in the camper? Well here's a simple plan ahead idea, Frozen Pancake Batter! Things you will need:
  • Pancake Batter - Brand of your preference
  • Large Ziploc Bags
  • Clips - This will keep the bags sealed tight
  • Freezer - In Homer/Camper
  • Scissors - This will cut the back
Once you make the pancake batter, pour it into the Ziploc bag. Place the clip on the end tightly and put it in the freezer. Once you are ready to make breakfast, let it thaw out and cut the tip of the bag, then you're ready to start serving a quick breakfast!
